What is Haemoglobin and its Functions

Hemoglobin

Hemoglobin (Hb):- Red Oxygen carrying pigment in RBCs normal value.

At birth 23 gm/dl

Adults male - 15-17 gm/dl

Adults female - 13-15 gm/dl


Functions of Haemoglobin:- 

1). Trasport of oxygen from lungs to the tissue.

2). Trasport of O2 from tissues to lungs.

3). It acts as an excellent acid-base buffer.
