Stomach

-> The Stomach is a muscular, Hollow Organ in the human GIT and many other animals including vertebrates.

-> The Stomach is a J-Shaped organ that digests food.

-> It Produces enzymes and acids.

-> The enzymes and acids break down the food so it can pass to the small intestine.

Location of Stomach:- Stomach is located on the left side of the upper abdomen.

Parts of Stomach:- Stomach has five sections.

1). Cardia:- Cardia is the top part of the Stomach. It has the cardia sphincter, which prevents food from traveling back up the esophagus.

2). Fundus:- Fundus is a rounded section next to the cardia. It is below the diaphragm(the down-shaped muscle that helps you breathe).

3). Body:- Body is the largest part of the stomach. It contracts and begins to mix food.

4). Antrum:- Lies below the body. It holds food until your stomach is ready to send it to the small intestine.

5). Pylorus:- Bottom part of the stomach. It has a pyloric sphincter. Sphincter controls foods when and how stomach food moves to Small Intestine.
