Introduction of GIT

Gastrointestinal tract (GIT)


-> Other name GI Tract, Digestive Tract, Alimentary canal.

-> GIT is a tract where the passage of food from the mouth to the anus.

-> The GI Tract contains all major organs of the digestive system in humans and other animals.

-> Including organs of the digestive system are 

1). Esophagus

2). Stomach

3). Intestines

GIT is 9 meters long.

-> Food taken by mouth that is digested and absorbs energy and the waste expelled at anus as feces.

-> The Human GIT consists of the esophagus, stomach, and intestines and is divided into upper and lower GIT.

-> GIT includes all structures between the mouth and anus(Stomach, small intestines, and large intestines).

-> GIT is made up of GIT and the accessory organ of digestion.

-> These are the Tongue, Salivary glands, Pancreas, Liver, and gall bladder.
