Agranulocyte White Blood Cells (WBCs).


Monocyte(Large WBC):- Size 10-18 μm.

Nucleus:- 

I). Pale Eccentric 

II). Single, round 

III). Ecentric in position

IV). Nuclear chromatin


Cytoplasm:- Pale Blue Clear

Functions:-

I). Active Phagocytosis

II). Second line of defence

III). Monocyte may also kill tumor cells.


Monocytosis:- Increase in the number of monocytes.

Causes:-

I).   Tuberculosis

II).  Syphilis

III). Some Leukemia


Monocytopenia:- Decrease in the number of monocytes.

Causes:- Hypoplastic Bone marrow.

Lymphocyte:- 

They are of two types:=

I). Large Lymphocyte:- Size 10-14 μm.

II). Small Lymphocyte:- Size 7-10 μm.


Nucleus:-

I). Single very big purple in color.

II). Shape: round oval.

III). Central in position and occupies the whole of the cell.

IV). Nuclear chromatin coarse and clumpy Shaped.


Cytoplasm:- Pale blue.

Function:- Produced antibodies.


Lymphocytosis:- Increase in lymphocytes Count.

Causes:-

I). In Children.

II). Chronic Infection Eg:- tuberculosis.

III). Lymphatic Luekemia.

IV). Viral Infections.


Lymphocytopenia:- Decrease in Lymphocyte.

Causes:-

I). AIDS

II). Hypoplastic Bone Marrow
