Hypertension
* A condition in which the force of the blood against the artery walls is too high.
* Usually, Hypertension is defined as Blood Pressure above 140/90 and severe above 180/120.
Causes
1. Primary Hypertension
* Blood Plasma Volume
* Hormone activity in people who manage blood volume and pressure using medication
* Environmental factors such as stress and Lack of exercise.
2. Secondary Hypertension
Include causes and complications of other health problems there are-
* Chronic Kidney Disease
* Cushing syndrome is caused by corticosteroid drugs.
* Hypertension (or) an overactive thyroid gland.
* Hypertension, which affects calcium and phosphorus levels.
* Pregnancy
* Obesity
Signs and symptoms
* A person with Hypertension does not show any symptoms
* Hypertension can damage the heart, blood vessels, and other organs such as the kidneys.
* In rare and severe conditions high BP shows sweating, Anxiety, and Sleeping problems.
* Most people do not show any symptoms.
Diagnosis
(1) Urine Test
(2) Cholesterol test and blood test
(3) Test of Hearts (ECG)
(4) USG of Heart (or) Kidneys.
Treatment
(1) Medication
(a) Diuretics such as Thiazides.
(b) Beta bLOCKERS EG:- atenolol
(c) Vasodilators
(d) ACE inhibitors eg: Fosinopril
(e) Angiotensin receptor Blockers eg:- Valsartan
Diet
(a) Reducing salt intake
(b) Moderating Alcohol Consumption
(c) Eating more Fruits and vegetable
(d) Managing body weight
